    • 1) How do I edit, manage existing and add new email accounts?
We have some video tutorials regarding email which are on the main Support page at the top. Click these to watch or read the information below:

On the Webation website there is a link at the top called "Webmail". Click the "Pro" link. All Webation Active accounts come with Pro email accounts. The Standard "Std" link is for website hosting accounts.

To manage or add in a new account, you need to have a domain name attached to your Webation Active account and you require the "postmaster" login. If you don't have the postmaster login, please contact us. The "postmaster" login is an administrative login that allows you to add and manage email accounts for yoru domain name.

Enter in your postmaster@yourdomain and the password. Click the "Settings" button across the top (it may be selected already) and then click on "Email Account Management" on the left menu. From this screen, you can add in new email accounts and editing existing accounts.

This allows you to change and add to the settings on the server. The next step is to configure your email software to receive the email and/or you can use the provided Webmail.

      2)
What are the email settings for my email software (ie. Microsoft Outlook)?
You will need the following settings to setup your email software:

Account Type: POP3 or IMAP (click here to find out about which one to use)
      Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: mail.yourdomain
      Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: imap.yourdomain
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: your ISPs setting OR smtp.yourdomain

If you use smtp.yourdomain for your outgoing SMTP mail server, then you can send and receive attachments up to 40MB in size (your ISP probably only supports up to 10MB). When you use smtp.yourdomain, click on the "advanced" settings page and make sure that "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is ticked. Then check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". This is for Microsoft Outlook and the wording may be a little different if you are using another program.

Now click on the "Advanced" tab and change the "Outgoing server (SMTP):" port number to either 25, 2500 or 25000. Telstra Bigpond in Australia blocks you from using the default port 25 - check with your ISP if port 25 does not work or just try using 2500 or 25000 as the port number.

      3)
      How do I access Webmail?
On the Webation website there is a link at the top called "Webmail". Click the "Pro" link. All Webation Active accounts come with Pro email accounts.

Login with your email username and password. The username is your entire email address.

Click the "Mail" icon in the top menu (if it isn't already clicked) and then use the left menu to read and manage your email.
